Hello, hello! I’m back! It’s been a really long time since I’ve done one of these, so if you’re new around here, this series is essentially finding my way through the writing and publishing. I also have tips and advice occasionally. Today, I’m writing outside, working on Meeting the Star, and I’m stuck on a scene. This is coming from someone who has claimed in the past to not struggle with writer’s block. And I just realized what the issue is… My writing process has changed.
Last week I wrote about how I create my marketing and release schedule. Another question I get frequently is how much I write every day, especially from new or unpublished authors. I have published two full-length books, have a third on its way, and am going to have multiple shorts stories published in anthologies this year. And to those just starting out, that sounds like a lot. Unfortunately, in the world of self-publishing, it really isn’t. The indie book world is a lot fa
The Last Summer is officially out, and I’ve announced a new anthology, Ephemera: Life Lessons Learned! I’ve been trying to figure out what to write for this next part forever. That’s the biggest reason for the delay in posts, and I apologize for that. It normally doesn’t get that bad, so it threw me off. That plus being too busy meant not much writing happened. HOWEVER,
Hello, hello! Wow, it has been a really long time. I am so bad at keeping a blog updated, but I am back and determined to do this! Alright, since the last time I wrote, A LOT has happened. I queried a few agents over the summer, but nothing came of it. About a month after I sent the letters, I started really considering self-publishing. So, it did not bother me to receive a couple rejections. I’ve been working a lot more in the indie community this year, and I really just fel
As of January 31, 2019, I have officially finished the first draft of my first full-length novel! Hence this series. I thought it would be neat to not only document my journey but share what I learn along the way. I’ll also share sneak peaks of my work and things that have inspired me along the way. It all started with a dream. I know, cliché, but it’s completely true. I have always had the most random, usually-weird dreams. Back in mid-October, 2018, I woke up from a dream o
