Elsie wants nothing to do with the elegant life she's been forced into, nor her betrothed. Since their childhood, she's been promised to Silas, a serious and proper gentleman. And her best friend's older brother.
But once upon a time, he was her friend too.
Despite pushing him away and wishing for her freedom though, Silas might just be the one who understands her the most. He sees through her secrets and lies, and she isn't sure whether she should be more infuriated with the stubborn man or gracious.
The choices in her life were taken before she uttered her first words, but Elsie won't go down without a fight.
